Several documentaries, specials and movies are scheduled to air today, in honor of Veterans Day 2015.
Classic film buffs can tune in to AMC for the network’s Best Vets Movie Marathon from 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. CT. The lineup will include classics like “Independence Day,” and back-to-back airings of “Saving Private Ryan.”
PBS will air “IWO Jima: From Combat to Comrades,” a documentary following survivors of one of WWII’s fiercest battles as they return for a Reunion of Honor on the battlefield. Ryan Phillippe hosts, at 7 p.m.
HBO will replay last year’s “Concert for Valor,” honoring veterans and their families at 3:15 p.m. Guests include Jack Black, The Black Keys, Bryan Cranston, Eminem, Jamie Foxx, Dave Grohl, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J., George Lopez, Metallica, John Oliver, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen, Carrie Underwood, Bob Woodruff and Zac Brown Band, as well as special appearances by Tom Hanks, Will Smith, Steven Spielberg, Meryl Streep, Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon.
